I know this build is a little off category here at OB, but I wanted to share it with the community (as well as other coffee lovers) and show however vast the possibilities are when OB hardware is involved. This is a powered stand intended to operate a manual coffee grinder. It is compact, light, portable and uses simple drive components (B&D Cordless Screwdriver). I will post two version, V-1 (Beginner skill level ) and V-2 (Intermediate skill level). Both accomplish the same results.

My second attempt at an affordable sewing machine embroidery add on. This one uses readily available electronics modules and 3D printable parts where possible.

The Microwave Filter Tuner (MFT) combined with the University of Regina’s tuning algorithm automatically tunes microwave filters by using a custom CNC machine with a computer vision system for identifying, mapping, and tuning each filter element, providing improved consistency, flexibility, and accuracy compared to traditional methods. The MFT is low cost and is capable of tuning multiple filter configurations with minimal preparation.

My Controls box to run my Workbee 1510 That was retrofitted with Lead Screws as well as Lineal Bearings. I'm currently working on the CNC control box, before doing any future work on the CNC Mountain Machine. I want the controller to be future proof and as professional as I can manage. I am planning to use stepper drivers, PSU's, a motor contactor unit to turn everything on, as well as a VFD and proximity limits switches. Each video will document the process and steps involved in researching, designing, planning and assembling a controller. I am not a natural electrician so learning as I go.

This is a CNC Line Boring Machine for our cabinet shop. It drills the holes every 32 mm for the adjustable shelf pins in the cabinet side pieces. I chose this option over purchasing a multi-head boring machine that requires 11 drill bits - Left & Right hand twist - that also requires a lot of strength to plunge that many drill bits into the wood to be drilled.

4-axis CNC Hot wire foam wing cutter

This is a book scanner built out of aluminum extrusion. It is designed to get high quality scans without harming the book. It is not automated. You still have to turn the pages yourself.

This build is to show what's possible as well with openBuilds! I use a single ArduinoMega and 5 separate stepper drivers (A4988). The LEDs are all NeoPixels. Collision 'detection' is all done within the code, so the endstops are only sensors I use in this build. I'm a self-employed video-artist and this is my first installation which just needs power and it runs (where I'm quite proud of). Normally my interactive installations take a long setup time, so this installation is a relief :)
