What are your plans for charging? Some form of induction or will the case need to be opened for battery removal?
I also dive, and those lights are stupid expensive for what they are.
I have a few of these detectors and they use a waterproof plug for the battery. Could adapt that to use with your flashlight.
Metal Detectors - Minelab Metal Detectors - for metal detecting, gold prospecting, treasure hunting, pulse induction and countermine operations.
The previous one I built had a lead acid battery with a removable 'screw in' back sealed with a neoprene "O" ring. Battery will be removed for charging. Will be charged with a Model airplane/model car charging system. Battery pack will swapped between dives. (36 volt, .5 to .6 amps, enough batteries for approximately 2 hr duration). Have not looked at a waterproof plug for the battery but am interested.
