What did you make your clear skirt from?

Yes, I wondered that - I'm guessing its Polybutadiene or more likely vinyl.

I am thinking of trying some wide clear packing tape taped to itself so it will be thicker & no sticky part showing. Maybe do 2 layers with vertical slits staggered between the layers. I am going to use a ziptie to hold it in place.

I'm using clear vinyl from cold room curtain material. Its 1/64 " thick (about .5 mm) and is 5 " wide. Got about 20' from a tarpaulin company for $1.50 donation to their coffee fund. It was scrap material. Just don't cut your slits too far they will get sucked in. I attached with self sticky Velcro, split in half lengthwise. (I'm cheap)

Is that kind of like this stuff at Joann's? I am going to try some bubble wrap or screen protector shipping material since I have some around the house. I also have an old shower curtain. I probably could get an 1/8 yard of the vinyl for Joann's for less than a $1 based on their yardage cost. Here is a screen capture of the boot I am going to try this with. I have the groove around the part to hold a zip tie.
