i always make laser cutting machine, but when i see openbuilds, this can make more cheap gantry for make laser cutting.

This is a stool, designed in 18mm wood for a cnc router, it's easily scaleable to different wood-thicknesses, in 18mm wood it takes up 1200*1200mm. It can be assembled without screws, nails or glue and can therefore also be easily disassembled.

This is a 1-Axis CNC Glass Grinder. It uses a hobby grinder to miter a precise angle on the edge of a piece of glass.

For the x and y Axis you set the zero point with a limit switch, but how can you get the zero position for the z Axis? You have different thickness of material to mill and when you change the tool, you have also a other z Axis positon. With the Sensor, you can define the zero position of the piece automaticly.

This "hobby OX" CNC is built for multiple purposes such as cutting and engraving various materials, laser etching and cutting, etc... Its a great platform for hobby enthusiasts like me where this machine can be used for so many different purposes effectively and efficiently!

Hi! This build is, or at least should be, a multipurpose box (mBOX). Due to limited space I want to build something that can serve multiple purposes such as 3d printing, 3d scan, plexiglass cutting and hopefully some milling too (both wood and metal). Switching between modes should involve switching heads and worksurface (change heatbed with a wood platform and viceversa). A build which is based on a metal frame and aluminium plate which I salvaged from a skip. The frame is sized to hold 19" rack units so I'll build my control box into a 3U rack unit (also salvaged). The area available for the build is 700x1200mm. I'll sling a 60W CO2 tube under the base, the beam path will be initially upward into the enclosure.

What I want to build is a unit to: rout wood, plastic and occasional aluminium . to be able to swap cutters. i.e. drragknife, laser, router, drill

Using a Raspberry Pi, Arduino and a Protoneer CNC Shield to create an Open Source CNC router controller. It will be equipped with a touch screen to control the on board processor. The touch screen will run a user interface that has buttons for added functionality. There will be a camera for monitoring progress from inside my office. The control box will also feature a way to power the vacuum and spindle/router . I will also be able to monitor room temp as well as Pi CPU temps and averages.

Here it is my intention to show what was involved in adding a CO2 laser to my existing CNC machine.

The Ronin OX is a dedicated fiber composite milling machine. I give a complete in-depth article on how to take a nearly stock OX build and easily turn it into something that can mill carbon fiber and G10 plate effectively and quickly.

This build is made by students from Fontys Hogescholen Eindhoven, department Engineering. Every quarter a new group continues the work of the previous group. We have been working on the project since september 2015, and as it is a work in progress, a lot will be added later. LASER ENGRAVING DIY 60 WATT

The frame is made from all open builds parts, add the rubber feet and pads for the glass. The glass is clear 12" x 16" x 1/4" with a polished edge. A light basket slides on the countertop.

I wanted to put together a medium size router using PTFE slides from McMaster-Carr. I've had great experience with these slides in long term continuous motion operations in industrial environments.
