Cool build John looking forward to the details. I have been wanting to build one of these.
Cool build. It looks like there is just one motor controlling it too.
Found this over on grabcad really simple solution to not have to use 45 bevel gear method.
Here is an interesting one that does use bevel gears
And this one is super simple for inspiration
This example shows the gear on the opposite side to force dual rotation rather than just hope balance takes care of an even spread about one axis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=dfeKjb6vo2A#t=215 Note the difference in gears sizes too.
Nice video Rick thanks
if you look at my video balance is achieved with counter weights. If all is right you can rotate the machine like we are showing with no weighted or outrigger type base.
all you need is one motor going in one direction to make the frames spin. The one key that most people are missing out on is fixing the gear for the inner square to rotate.
Remember keep it simple. www.profabricator.com www.cncforeveryone.com
