This is a CNC Line Boring Machine for our cabinet shop. It drills the holes every 32 mm for the adjustable shelf pins in the cabinet side pieces. I chose this option over purchasing a multi-head boring machine that requires 11 drill bits - Left & Right hand twist - that also requires a lot of strength to plunge that many drill bits into the wood to be drilled.

Using most of the parts of the MiniMill, and adding a few other parts (cost < $200), transforms the MiniMill into a very capable machine. Final build area as shown is 10.25" x 16". With a custom Y-plate, I will take it to 10.25" x 20-24".

This was my first attempt for a laser platform. I'm using the OpenBuilds ACRO 20"x40 platform, 6W OptLaser, homemade z height and the xPro driver board.

This modular CNC machine is based on the OpenBuilds ACRO System, however I wanted something that did more than just laser engrave. So I designed my machine using the same style as the ACRO but with some upgrades such as an actual Z-axis and the ability for multiple tool attachments.

Quack Ball is a game in which the objective is to knock down moving ducks. The ducks are protected by a barricade that moves at a very fast speed. The game can be played individually or by two or more players. Each round consists of a total of ten targets to shoot and each player will have four balls to shoot. Prior to beginning play, a player selects how many ducks, maximum four, the player will knock down continuously. If player fails games is over for that player.

A minimalist 2-axis A2 sized laser diode cutter/engraver. Designed to give the most function using the very least number of parts at the lowest price.

This is a modification I made to my Voxel Ox 3D Printer Z axis, which synchronizes the Z leadscrews via a shaft and helical gear transmission. It prevents the two Z leadscrew from getting out of adjustment relative to each other, and uses a single Z motor instead of two. This build is just documenting the specific changes I have made to the Z-axis, since the frame and other axes are still from the original Voxel Ox design.

A log of my "brain surgery" on a Cricut Expressions 2 to change the control board to something open so that I could cut what I wanted. The ESP32 GRBL board I used has bluetooth and WIFI built-in and was very easy to get working just the way I wanted.

This is a C-Beam based router with V-rails used for the bed, a Sherline spindle with Jacobs chuck, closed loop stepper motors on every axis and an offline 4-axis CNC controller. A U-channel was created to guide the drag chain on the X-axis.

This machine is a heavy duty, moving gantry style CNC router. It uses Teknic ClearPath servo motors driving ballscrews and linear rails. The machine has 36" x 48" x 19" of travel with about 7" of clearance below the gantry.

The aim of this design is to build a simple, cost effective (under $1000) and relatively compact large volume (m3) 3D printer that will use a pellet extruder to create art/design objects using shredded recycled plastics.

i´ve designing this laser taking care of every part to be functional, This laser has Endstops mounts on the corners and the X axis both sides too. The corners has fasbelt tension knobs for easy operation. The laser mount has adjustable knob to manually rise or down the laser for focusing purpose. all the parts have been printed at 65% infill a 2 perimeter lines just to make the parts stronger. My First major improvement was changing the controller to a Acorn board. I loved the way a dedicated userinterface was speeding up my workflow. Next project my Y Axis. On Aliexpress I ordered a couple of 16mm ballscrews and some lineair rail. Before I took my gantry off I quickly made some aluminium profiles to fit my carriages. This is a small desktop vacuum former that can be connected to a shop-vac and an electric heat source (like a grill for instance). You can control the time each appliance stays turned on, and the vacuum is automatically turned on when the tray is placed on top of the model. The vacuum table is 20x20cm wide, and I've tested it mostly with 1mm thick PET sheets.

I'm working on a cartesian cnc router for my school research project

ROUX is a 2'x4' CNC that can be easily handbuilt without an existing mill and removes the need to buy generic plates for the Routy. A simpler, more refined machine.

An all metal construction cartesian style 3D printer with a very rigid frame that has the flexibility to function as a desktop milling station or laser cutter with appropriate user designed attachments. Design is scaleable to suit any size requirement. All axis are leadscrew driven. V-Slot and Mini V-wheels have been utilised for the linear rails.

Acquiring a CNC has been on my list for some time now. This concept is a bare bones, upgradeable machine that will not require a complete rebuild when new parts become available. With a cutting surface over 36" square, this beast should be capable of creating its own parts. Lowering the price to make upgrading and making this contraption beefier, faster, and more precise.

This is where I will share my attempt at building a slightly "beefier" OpenBuilds OX CNC Machine using commonly available parts in the spirit of OPENBUILDS and Open Source in general. I have a tendancy to over-build things so I will be balancing that tendacy against budget constraints and common sense as much as possible.
