I recently bought a C beam CNC machine with 3 axes (c beam linear actuators). I am planning to attach an additional linear actuator to my z axis to provide an extra level of movement in the z direction. The actuator that I am going attach is this (150mm slide stroke). The same company sells a similar actuator with a 50-60mm slide stroke which wights 780g, therefore I assume that the 150mm one should weigh no more than 2kg. The problem is that I don't know if the v wheels or the NEMA 17 stepper motor would hold the new linear actuator. Does anybody know what is the torque rating for the v wheels or the stepper motor + leadscrew assembly?

    Thanks.

    Hi Peter,

Thanks very much. The testing specs and deflection were very helpful.
