Hi Everyone!

We started with the mission to design the strongest, most accurate, highest performing CNC machine at a level that is affordable.

It began with creating an extremely ridged axis that incorporates a multi C-Beam Linear Rail system
as well as precision lead screws coupled with a tension system for the absolute maximum in performance.

Bringing all these elements together allows us to achieve insane accuracy at longer lengths creating a
high-performance large CNC platform that is a welcome addition to the OpenBuilds family of CNC machines.

We believe the LEAD 1515 will be a staple in workshops everywhere.

Software Work Flow:

Please note: Be sure to check out all the cool CAM programs out there to take your machine to the next level!

1. Free SketchUp Make for our CAD (makes the 3D model parts
2. For creating 2D drawings we use the Free and Awesome OpenBuilds CAM
   (CAM Works up the cut lines and makes the GCODE for the parts) or the professional goto software from our friends at Vectric
3. For controlling the machine we use OpenBuilds CONTROL Software
   (CONTROL Reads the gcode created in cam and moves the machine to make the part or art)

When using an OpenBuilds BlackBox all in one plug and play controller follow along with the main BlackBox wiring video.

Because this machine is modular you can adapt it in several ways. One of the most popular ones is to raise the Z height to carve taller projects. Good news it really quite easy to do while your building you simple substitute a few parts and you have a High Z mod.
