Hi! I'm planing to build an X, Y table. I want it to be a square of beams with a carriage in the middle. I want to drive it with two stepper motors. All it needs to be able to do is to position the carriage by X and Y axis. Anyone could give me suggestions on parts / construction? Example: This printer has an nice X Y system. I am open to any way of doing this! Openbuilds seems to have really nice and solid parts. I think by project could be made nicely of those... Thanks
How big do you plan to go with it? And if you are trying to go with two motors, have you considered a Core[X,Y] belt system? (Ref also http://www.openbuilds.com/threads/h-bot-corexy-cube.788/)
Thanks for reply! I looked at H-bot systems. But I get a little bit scared when it comes to controlling it, I use arduino atm to control other stuff in my mechanics. But I don't want it to get too complicated. The X Y table are going to be for sorting and can return to zero x y between every sorting. But if it is simple to do H-bot coordinates in arduino I think it would be a solution!
