Who needs CAD, CAM and a CNC 2.5D / 3D router ?

    Check out what Matthias Wandel does without a 3D router : http://woodgears.ca/bandsaw/cnc.html True, as fast as a 3D router can be, for some parts, the prep time (ie generating the G-code) can be long for a one off.

    He actually built a wood manual 3D router : a 3D router pentograph and a router copier. o_O Below he routes a rotary phone without using any CAD, CAM or such 'high tech' stuff - just wood, a few screws and, of course, the router :



    He makes all sorts of machinery out of wood. Amazing, eh ?

    I'll stick to a CNC machine like myOX, thank you nonetheless.
