I just ordered all the stuff to build a 1000mm by 1000mm C Beam machine. I am looking through alot of different software and what i am looking for is a easy to use software to do 3d carvings and 3d picture frames. Anyone have any ideas
Depends on the money your willing to spend really.... Vectric makes great software, a bit pricey but very nice... Artcam as well... I'm sure there are a few others but for woodworkers and hobbyist those seem to be the most prominent in my mind...
Those are some nice software pieces. Looking through the stuff that you can download on the C beam. Do you happen to know what software created the .cnc files within the zip folder?
Not sure but they offer the solidworks sldprt files and not autodesk ipt files which lead me to believe they used solidworks but then the sldprt files are surfaces not solid which is odd but still suspect they used solidworks
well doing some research from Hytech2K i found out they are using Aspire from Vectric. There are demo version available that allows me to open their .cnc files and modify if i feel. The demo versions are full versions except you cant output the G-code to produce the carving. It does allow you to carve the demo files (makes it nice for calibration). I think i am going to look into buying the aspire. Thank you Hytch2K
No problem, keep in mind VCarve Pro 8 has most of the same functionality as Aspire for doing 3D work but at a much more affordable price...
Sorry i misread your post, thought you were talking about the 3d models my bad. Vectric is great for your 2d and engraving work. Powerful bit of kit. In fact almost essential. I use it alongside hsm, hsm being less efficient with 2d work but better for 2.5d/3d stuff. Get a simplified version of hsm for free now with free version of fusion 360. Coupled with vcarve and your set.
