Hi I'm looking into building a laser cutter and I have trouble deciding between two options: Should I use the V-Slot from open builds or build a frame from extruded aluminium and then attach linear rods and pillows blocks for moving the mirrors around. Has anyone experience with both systems? My guess is that the linear rod system requires less torque from the motors and would be more precise. I'd appreciate any feedback.
V-slot is the better choice for any project that requires precision or durability. Linear rods and pillows blocks are gross and also full of fail.
