Hi, I am part of a group of university students designing a CNC controlled Incremental sheet forming machine, this machine will have two independent tools moving simultaneously on different tool paths. We need to use 8 stepper motors, and have found that the XPro controller can supply the appropriate current. We need to know whether there is any way to connect the two XPros (with 4 motors attached to each) so that they can start and run synchronously.

Has anybody had any experience of this?

Here is a basic concept image for our machine, with the two tools either side of a sheet, and a pneumatic cylinder below (this will be controlled separately)

You can't use two xPro boards in parallel because of the two way communications on the USB bus between the xPRO and the controling computer.
How many Axes are you controlling with your eight motors?
