Hey all, just purchased my C Beam Mechanical bundle. Going to learn on this and use it to build a larger OX type.

This is my first post, and just learning the ropes around here. I didn't see anything w/ respect to bits and sizes. I am looking at a Bosch Colt or a Dewalt 611 for a spindle now.

Just wondering weather to stay 1/4" or get a collet reducer and go with 1/8" as well as they types of bits, bull nose, up cut, down cut, 2 flute, 4 flute, the little tiny pointed bullnose ones.... My head is spinning, basically, I'd like to be doing some aluminum cutting, nothing big, along with cutting 3d objects into insulation foam as well. Wood isn't a big thing with me, it's mainly going to be foam, wax and aluminum.

    Thanks All

There are a number of threads on the subject but this one is about as good a place to start as any. What cutter? | OpenBuilds
