I can't get the X-axis motor to rotate on my XCarve. I've removed all belt pressure,

OP Control sees the x32, I have 24V attached, but jogging does nothing except clunk at the end of a jog move.

Troubleshooting shows the probe triggered, although I don't have a probe installed yet. Is the controller refusing to step because it thinks the probe is engaged? How do I disable the probe input?

I don't see anything in the documentation about a simple motor test. I've check the coils with a multi-meter, so I'm fairly sure coils A and B are connected ok.

Jogging the probe dialog, the motor seems to hunt forwards then backwards a few degrees, never getting anywhere.

I find it confusing the motors enabled light goes out when jogging. There seems to be a complete lack of documentation for how the x32 operates, unless I have not looked in the correct place.

Is there a simple tutorial to get a motor spinning??

    Regards
    Paul

Make sure $4=0 as per our profiles. In CONTROL > Grbl Settings > Select Custom to have our base defaults correct, then enter the relevant settings for your machine

    Thanks Peter,

I found some grbl settings for Xcarve and setup a custom config.

X and Y motors accelerate, feed and deaccelerate nicely. Rapid moves ok.

Z axis is a bit stiff and needs grease, the wheels need adjustment also.

I like the Grbl settings saved on the x32. Is there are way to name the custom config?

    Cheers
    Paul

The dropdown just fills in the form below for you with our machines defaults.

With a modified config, its stored on the controller forever, and you can use the Backup Settings button to keep a copy safely archived.
