Hi I'm having problems with SketchUcam and 3D text. Specifically I need to retain the center of letters with holes in them ie., 'o', 'P', Q etc.
I'm wanting to cut out text to give me pockets to insert an inlay.
I set out a rectangle with a thickness - same as my intended workpiece. I then add the 3D text to the surface, select the text and make a group (its not a straight line of text, letters are added individually). I then right click and 'explode' the text, this lets me select letters and use the push-pull tool on them - fine on letters without a hole in them. But the letter O when selected and the push-pull tool applied the center moves down with the letter and I can't figure out how to stop that happening?

I can't quite grasp what you're saying but, highlight the letter again, and try exploding the same piece twice. :D

Don't draw in 3D (no push-pull) watch the youtube videos from David the Swarfer

Gary, David - Many thanks for these videos. Think I'm sorted now.

    Cheers
