    Hi guys,

I have just started ordering all the materials for my CNC build.

    I plan on a 750 X-axis by 1000mm Y-axis and a 280mm Z axis.

The X is going to be 2080 C-Beam (so as to avoid the problem with 2-2060's and a 2040 for added strength. I thought the C-Beam would be cheaper too).

    4 Nema 23, 174oz steppers. 1 for X, 1 for Z and 2 for Y axis's. ( I hope I have worked this out right for threaded rod drive).

I am also wondering how hard it would be to convert this over to a 3D Printer. Has anyone done this yet? What extra parts do I need to buy to make it a CNC and a 3D Printer?

Will get some pics when the parts start to arrive.

Spend so far just over $500. Still need to work out all the plates, but I am thinking of making them out of 9mm Marine Ply to start with and then once the CNC is built and working I will then make the plates from Aluminium.
