I've built a CNC router which sits on top of a 2020 aluminium extrusion workbench. Part of this is boxed out to create a 6mm plywood enclosure which I was going to use to mount the 1.5kw VFD, 24v PSU and controller/driver boards.

The enclosure will be well vented with 120mm fans and plenty of spacing. However, I don't know if it's a really bad idea to mount a HY 1.5kw VFD on plywood as I've not used one before (so don't know how hot it gets). It would cost around £100 to swap the plywood sheet enclosure for an aluminium one, so I'd rather avoid this if it's safe to do so.
