I picked up a FrankenCNC that I am trying to rebuild into something else. It originally had 2 C-Beams to move the table, I want to have a stationary table with a moving gantry. The pics show the C-Beams I have to work with, they have Openbuilds high torque motors. My question is what would you suggest to convert them to move the y-axis?
Just move them to the outside, stand them on edge and connect them like you see in LEAD CNC 1010 (40" x 40") | OpenBuilds. Couldn't be simpler. You may want to watch the video or download the Sketchup model for suggestions on how to frame out the bed.
