    Hi all,
I'm just about to order a Lead1515 kit but there are a couple of questions I can't find the answer to anywhere.

For a stock standard Lead 1515 build with the high torque steppers and the 2.5kw spindle what jog speeds can I expect from the machine? I'm hoping for 4000mm/min. Will the long 8mm lead screws be able to deliver this speed? I would expect a similarly build Lead 1010 to be faster, but is that the case?

    Thanks,
    Allistar.

If by jog speed you're referring to max rate $110, $111 I have my LEAD 1515 with high torque steppers set to 3900mm/min and it zips along fine. I'm sure I could increase it substantially without an issue.

I am cutting 3D wood carves at about 5000mm/min, but that is with a 40% stepover roughing pass and 4000mm/min with a 2mm ball end mill at a 10% stepover on my lathe designed with OpenBuilds parts and using their 8mm lead screw.
