Has anyone tried cutting aluminum plate with their Lead CNC machine? I haven’t started my build yet, and was curious how well it’s up to the task. Thanks in advance!

I have a ox that I converted to lead screws. With xpro 4. Works great. Just watch feeds and speeds. I use a 4 flute end mill and some lub while cutting. I made my own 3 axis touch probe with it and a drill stop for my drill press.

Yes you can cut it . But make sure don’t cut just by one pass . Usually I cut 1/4” with 6 pass . The aluminum 6061 is best for work by CNC.
