FOR example the parts for openbuild, i open them, see them just fine but for some reason i can't do any of the modeling stuff to it?

but, i can create stuff and model it just fine, its as if i can't really touch the golden color stuff, when i create its kind of grey.

also side note, how do i add/edit the 'number of starts' when making threads/acme rods/holes
i just see a generic acme button but nothing for number of starts? How?

I had no issue opening and modifying the STEP files of the Openbuilds models. Is that the format you chose?
