So I was finally able to upload the drivers. And now can jog the machine. I created a very simple G-Code file using Design Edge which is the plasmacam software I normally use for plasmacutting. Then I tried the "Simulate" function of Openbuilds Control and came up with what's pictured. So where do I define this feed rate? And is there a place in Control where I can run the machine without actually trying to cut anything? Sorry for the basic questions but I am new at all this.

your Design Edge output needs to include a feedrate (like F1234) on or before the first G1 line. The is probably an option for it that needs to be turned on, together will telling it what feedrate you actually want.

There seems to be a problem with "Transfer G Code to Openbuilds Control" as nothing happens. Nothing appears on the Openbuilds
table. Maybe the problem is that I had Control already open? OK, now I got it. Not sure what happened, maybe a slow connection. Keep plugging away....

Transfer is just a convenience :) you can also save the gcode (floppy disk icon) and then open in your choice of Host (eg CONTROL)
