    Hi,
You list three CNC USB boards (CNC USB Controller, CNC USB Controller Mk 2/4 and the CNC USB Controller Mk2 (9 axis) but it is not clear what the differences are between these boards.

Essentially I want to build a 4-axis hotwire. Which of these boards do I need?

    Regards,
    Duncan

Hi rtfm. I'm feeling I should ask you what that stands for.:D

Anyway, from looking at your questions, I see you are asking all the same questions I did, when I first found this site. So. I suggest you have a look at these websites and and I think a lot of your questions will be answered. Maybe a few more created!

1st. http://www.cnc4everyone.com/ An excellent site for the new guy. :)

2nd. http://www.planet-cnc.com/index.php?page=features This is where the CNC Controller hangs out. You can find out all you want here. Put simply, the main thing about this controller is the fact that it is USB, as against using a Parallel Port of an older PC used by the Mach3 program. :)

    3rd. http://www.cnc4you.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=20_26
This is just an example of sites selling Motors and Drivers as Kits, or individually. I think you will decide that you should be shopping for Nema 23's now a days, rather than the smaller Nema 17's. It's a power thing.

Anyway, have a look through these sites, and then come on back with the new questions. :D
We are all here to help and advise where we can.

    Cheers

    Hello Gray
Please tell me your in the UK.
I'm interested in building an OX but weary of ordering the parts from the US. After a purchase of Hyaluronic Acid from a firm in Texas, not only did UK customs and excise charge me import duty, Fedex tried to do the same thing several weeks later. Customs won.

This is why I'm looking for suppliers here in the UK instead of going to the parts store in America. Once bitten twice shy and all that.

Anyway if you know any other places I can get similar components to the OX build I'd be grateful if you would let me know.

    Thanks a lot.
    Michael.
