Hey guys brand new to the CNC world so long story short while doing the finishing run on a carve the z axis keeps moving up a bit. I ran it multiple times and it did it in the exact same area. I tried running it in both different finish patterns but it did the same. I tried new code and smaller size but still same issues. Please help as I have no idea what I am doing.

Try lowering your Z axis Acceleration and Max rate values - might stall if set too high. Also recheck all Z axis mechanicals (shaft couplers setscrews, leadnut, stop collars, etc)

Any chance you can take a pic of where I would adjust those. I'm brand new to this. I have some pics of the set up but I'm guessing the adjustments are on the software side. I got the machine and computer all for one. The design software is vcarve desktop, and open builds to control CNC. Not sure if any of this helps but can't hurt right.

    OpenbuildsCONTROL > grbl settings tab

But first *read the entire grbl Wiki* at Home · gnea/grbl Wiki - understanding Grbl will only aid your learning curve. Max rates and acceleration are discussed in depth in the Wiki

Ps the bare copper poking out of those terminals in the pictures are a warranty-void-and-controller-dead waiting to happen. Trim the bare ends before inserting into the terminals so the insulation covers the wire until just before it goes into the terminal cage.

Ok thank you for the info. Will definitely fix the wiring issues as well.
