Here is my build of a C-Beam OX. Used plates as designed on the Screaming OX with a few changes. I cut the plates by hand and drilled the holes on a drill press. Build using 1000 mm C-Beams and 20x40 linear rails for the frame under the base. Have a Dewalt 611 to install yet and waiting on Precise Bits 1/8 collet. Took me awhile to decide on stepper driver and controller, so what I decided to try is a G540 but instead of using Mach 3 I wanted to try using GRBL on a Nano. Made a cable and setup a Nano on a breadboard and tested it. It seems to work good yet haven't try to cut anything with it yet only some writing on paper but doesn't seem to miss any steps. Still need to mount the router, build a table, cleanup wires and make a circuit board for the Nano and other I/O. Then I'll be adding limit switches for homing. Excited to cut something!
Here is my controller and driver layout. Still need to wire in limit switches and probing. So far has been working good but just cutting plywood. Added two computer fans cause the G540 was getting hot. Now it's nice n cool.
