I am lucky and have access to a few really cool 3D scanners. I’m working on a design using openbuilds to create an automated full body scanner. Until then I’m having a blast using the artech 3D by hand.

Other uses for these scanners will be biology related. We are scanning in bio exhibits and artifacts, digitizing, and reproducing. We want to share the models with schools who might not be able to afford the real thing. I’ve got a few animal skulls scanned, human artifacts soon.

Our scanner inventory includes 2x Artec, an enscan, an older white light, and laser scanner.

An example of full body, will update soon:

How are you using the scans in bio classes? Digitally or 3d printing them?

What model of Artec scanner do you use? Could you share your expirience please? I'm trying to learn how to deal with Artec Eva Lite. Any thoughts on Artec scanners vs Einscan?
