I need a stool for my shop. I wanted something easy and simple, yet wanted to try some king of assembly.

    You can build this with:
    1 - 300x300mm square
    2 - 400x250mm rectangle

After cutting, sand the edges and surface and test fit before applying a finish ( you'll need to consider the amount you'll add and sand accordingly )

I cut mine without any dogbones where the parts fits together, that was on purpose to test some other tools and processes but if you are doing this on a cnc router better to add those, because of this i have included 2 version of the original files: one with dogbone and one without ( laser )

For the finish i used a blue dye and some poly on top for protection.
