Beginner Cnc Live Bowl

Rating:
5/5,
  • Software:
    Vectric Aspire / Openbuilds CAM
    Machine Time:
    About 20 min
    Bit or Laser Size:
1/4" Flat end mill and bal nose
    Feeds & Speeds:
    30 mm/s
    Materials:
slice of you preferred wood, this is about 35mm

I really did not know what i was going to do with this slice, it all came to me as i was working on it, so this is more of a " look at what i did , what a great idea " than a resource project to replicate.

The truth is this is very easy to replicate on any material by just creating a cicle and adding some depth to it. The just create the roughing and finishing operation.

After milling finished i saw the crack i know i had to add some resin to it, what i did not know is how thing the bottom was going to be, actually it so thing that after sanding i could the other side. Its was not until i finished the project and was taking some pictures, i realized that adding some light in the back would make this thing pop, sure it did!!!

Love it man! this turned out really nice. Is the wood a palm tree?

I think it is if I recall correctly. Smell very nice.

Next step is a huge CNC machine to make one huge bowl :)
