    At our 2017 user group meeting one of our partners presented their adjustable standing desk project and very generously gave away the plans for the desk to be reproduced free of charge!

    For your locking mech. Couldn't you sleeve the wooden desk side with a metal tube to close your tolerance gap? Then make the holes on the gear a little tighter in tolerance? The icing on the cake would be adding a spring between the desk, maybe put a washer on the outside of the desk. Then put a spring between there and the locking block that doesn't allow the pin to go too deep into the gear hole. This way, you could pull the spring out, adjust the desk and then allow the pin to pop back into the closest hole to the adjustment level.

    Is this design available as a DXF file? It appears that the above project file is a native VCarve file. Their trial version of the software will not allow any exports to be used with any other CNC machine.
