In thinking about my build, I've been looking at exhause fans, hoping to do an inline blower on a 4" pipe. How many CFMs are needed really?

How long is a piece of string?

I've got an industrial vacuum with a cyclone unit on top of a 50L pail with DIY activated charcoal in it and it works fine for my needs.

If you want to continuously evacuate an enclosed laser unit and keep the vapours from the mirrors, etc. its going to depend on the size, how much ventilation the cabinet has, etc.

Start off with a vacuum cleaner and see how you go.

I saw a toilet/bathroom mains-powered 4" fan attached to the edge of a 2'x4' open bed laser and it was doing a fine job.

I'm trying to figure out how to exhaust my Acro. I thnk there's two basic options: 1) build an enclosure, or 2) build an exhaust hood over top

A toilet extractor fan and a piece of pvc and some 4” ducting will do the job. Just lie it close to the edge of the laser and it will pull all the fume, easy
