I've been a software guy for 7 years. And I try to start my own business with openbuilds' linear rails.

I worried about that I can't get the openbuilds items anymore oneday.
The open rail can be a problem. It has to be extruded 1 TON at a time. It's too much and too expensive.

    How do you think?

Diversification is the key. You'll note all the Openbuilds authorized retailers don't limit themselves strictly to Openbuilds products. And the only reason why Openbuilds parts wouldn't be available at some point in the future would be something better coming along, to which as a diversified business you can easily adapt.

As far as the 1 Ton at a time issue, this stuff is heavier than you think. 1 Ton of V-slot will fill a pallet 1 meter square approximately 1.1 meters high. If you're only buying 1 Ton at a time, you are getting killed on shipping charges. You need to be thinking in considerably bigger lots if you intend to get your money's worth out of a 25 Ton container.

Thank you very much for your kind response. I would start with open build this time. It will be a good start and Openbuilds would be disappeared in that easy :)

1TON of aluminium profile doesnt matter to me. I just contact with some sellers in Sth Korea and it is not that expensive.

    Thank you again.
