What kind of t nut clamps are people using to hold their work down on the LEAD CNCs? Do you use drop in t nuts? The t nut clamps I am seeing seem to require an exposed end to slide the nut into the rail. Thanks
You can use drop in nuts or you can drill a hole in the face of one of the slots and put a regular bolt in there. Use a step drill. Its easy.
I have used both. Drop in t nuts you just have to make sure they twist and make contact. For a more for sure that t nuts is engaged. The slide in t nuts are the best. Some of my drop in I placed once the panel got installed its hard to tell if there all engaged. Like for Linear rails where engaged t nuts are critical i would use the slide in ones. Like this panel on my machine. All drop in, not for sure there all are engaged. With the bolt spacing i used and 1/8in steel metal hard to tell no flex anywhere. I guess there is a time and place for what part to use. But I used drop in t nuts for this panel cause i was not taking machine apart. I do know if you sense a Drop in is not engaged backing screw out as far as you can go with out loosing nut on end of screw. will help it spin freely and twist and lock.
