Does anyone knows how to install bCNC on a Raspberry Pi? I'm searching the net for days now and all I find is 'I have a bCNC on my/a Pi' but no one says how they did it.
See the bCNC WIKI: vlachoudis/bCNC alongside vlachoudis/bCNC If that's too complicated, see (; OpenBuilds/OpenBuilds-CONTROL
yeah, i just followed the wiki on my RPI4, no problems I recall. EXCEPT use Python2.7 not Python3, the Python3 port still has bugs
Once you get it to work with grblHAL I will gladly keep using Control. I'm using it now but I want to move to the Teensy 4.1 and grblHAL.
I read the WIKI but I'm not sure how to do it. On Pi everything is on a SD card. My question is how do I install it on the SD card? I get how to install on my computer, following the WIKI, but how does it goes with the SD card?
Boot into Raspbian, and set it up just like you would on your computer, except you are running on the Pi, not the computer. Then from the terminal on the Pi, follow the Wiki Alternative, Pi's are hard, get a Pipo! (runs windows)
After much trial and tribulations, I was finally able to run bCNC on my RPi 3B+ and the Teensy 4.1 using grblHAL. All the problems I had were the results of errors I made do to my neglect and/or inexperience with the linux/raspbian operating system. I used the breakout board in the photo. It has a spot for the limit switch capacitors but the don't have to be used if not wanted. The pads can stay empty. While it says Teeney 4.1 on it any Teensy of that size can be used. And BTW, don't connect the E-Stop wire to the 3.3V pin since they are next to each other. You'll spend a week trying to find out why everything acts weird and not working properly. Don't ask how I know!
