Hey guys back again.Had mach three before got the black box controller on my new machine. Was running some code and was wondering is there a way to see where the bit is cutting tried hitting the simulation mode from the open builds software but could see nothing.I recall mach three use to light up the blue lines white as the bit progressed around the design.

Simulation will show you unless you have it disabled. (Troubleshooting -> Application Diagnostics)

The end of this video shows what simulation while a job is running looks like. There is a cone that represents the bit.

How about on "Disable 3D Viewer System"? The first option.

    How big is your file?

It is just a rectangular box for a test file. A little confused if I put a checkmark beside the disable 3D viewer system does that turn it on or disable it ,sorry

    It disables it.

We might be getting out of my depth of support here. But can you post a short video showing the 3d viewer when a job is running?

If we cant figure it out, Peter should be able to help tomorrow.

In Simulation mode, the Cone is still showing you where the "bit" is to be moving

    upload_2021-3-22_14-8-57.png

And while running a Job the Cone is also displayed, and reflects current Work coordinate position

    upload_2021-3-22_14-7-44.png

So no problem with the application.

A checkmark would disable a feature.

With NO TICKS its at its optimal feature set, but needs the fastest computer. As everything is ENABLED.

    Good Morning Peter
Simulation mode still not working was wondering is there any other way of turning it on or off accidently in software.I still cant believe i missed those tabs on the probe plus.lol.The computer im using is only about a year old with not many other programs on it so i dont think that would be an issue. Its an i5 processor with 8 gb ram.

Only if you have Disable 3D Realtime Job Position Indicator disabled under Troubleshooting.
If that is enabled, and the gcode is simulatable (include the file if you want us to check) it should display.

Make sure you are on the latest version v1.0.294

    Okay Peter
I was looking at gcode file and noticed it was saved as a repetier -host file. When i double click the file it brings up a repetier- host screen and it has a box to be checked off ,visualization, show travel moves. Can i make that happen all the time as I can only check it after the file is created.Thought maybe that would shed some light on the issue. Not sure how to go about posting the g code if that"s what you were looking for.Using vectric v carve pro to create my files.

Don't double click the file (You have Repetier associated with Gcode files) , just open the file in CONTROL from the Open GCODE button:

    1) Load the gcode
    2) Click Simulate

    or

    1) Load the gcode
    2) Connect to the machine
    3) Click RUN

The cone is only displayed while tje job runs, or while simulating.

    If it still doesn't show:
    - Upload the gcode file so we can check - use the Upload a File button right next to Post Reply at the bottom of the window where you enter these replies.
    - Make sure you are on latest CONTROL (v1.0.295) - if not grab latest from OpenBuilds Software - FREE Software for CNC Control: OpenBuilds CONTROL and OpenBuilds CAM
    - Double check what you have disabled in Troubleshooting > Application Diagnostics
