      Hey peoples..

I took a crack at a low profile rack and pinion C-Beam actuator in CAD.

If anyone's interested in using something like this, let me know and ill complete the build. I think i can get the BOM under $100. So far the only similar designs I've seen are from CNC router parts, and they're pretty steep... something like $60 JUST for the precision gear rack. This design uses a $20 dollar carbon steel rack, and a pinion gear lathed from a stock steel gear extrusion (so everything fits).

IDK if its just me, but belts stress me out (not to mention ugly), and acme screws require standoffs which messes with the aesthetics and packaging when you're building assemblies.
