We configured LinuxCNC (Machinekit) on a (BBB) Beaglebone black to run with Xylotex stepper motors and an Ooznest 1500 mm x 1500 mm mechanical kit. We are using a Ryobi router to do the cutting and a spindle mount from aliexpress. We are cutting full sheets of 3/4" plywood at 200 inches/min (ipm) with 0.25" step down and polycarbonate at 8 ipm (0.05" step down). Using fusion 360 for tool path generation. A parts list can be found here. Much more build information and many more pictures on our website.
4' x 4' Openbuilds Ox Open source CNC Router | Hedron
Hedron's build with Ooznest kit and Xylotex motors
Build in 'Cartesian Style CNC' published by Jesse Jenkins, Oct 26, 2015.
A 3-axis flying gantry (4'x4') mechanical kit is assembled. A 3D printer is used to make cable chain for tidy and cheap wire management. A BeagleBone Black development platform with Machinekit software (LinuxCNC) is configured to control a Xylotex motor driver box connected to an Openbuilds Ox direct-drive pulley and belt motion system. A vacuum dust-collection system is designed, CNC-routed and installed. A steel table is made to mount the table onto.

Special Notes
We 3D-printed the cable chain for this system. We used thin aluminum sheet metal to mount the cable chain to the gantry (see website). I designed an air deflector for the ryobi router so the dust collection system could work better. I used the CNC router to make dust shoe for the router. The design files are attached here and can also be found on our github (Hedrontech/Openbuilds-Ox-CNC-router · GitHub).
