      Inspired by the original openbuilds C-BEAM, I wanted to make a more compact and rigid version using 15 mm linear rails, aluminium profiles and aluminium plates. The footprint is about 365x280 mm that makes it fit perfectly on a desk.

      Dimensions:
      380 mm width
      500 mm height
      430 mm depth

      Travels:
      X axis travel = 180 mm
      Y axis travel = 150 mm
      Z axis travel = 80 mm

      Table:
      Lenght = 180mm
      Widht = 150mm

      Structure:
      4040 alumnium profile
      8040 c-beam profile

      Axis:
      15 mm linear rail
      8mm ACME lead screw

      Spindle: Makita RT0700C

      Electronics:
      GRBL Shield + 3x Nema 17

      Next step:
      Build an enclosure

    Reason for this Build

    I wanted to build a smaller and more rigid version of the Openbuilds C-Beam that might be capable of milling aluminium precisely.
