It doesn't - you can use it to probe Z, but you can't probe X & Y with a V bit. I don't use a bit at all to probe X & Y, I use a brass rod of known diameter then change to the bit to probe Z. Alex.
Thanks for the information. I didn't figure it worked with vbits, but thought I should investigate before trying. I don't want to mess any of my bits or the touch plate up
Do you know if I can flip the plate over and probe the bottom for z? That way I can probe the center of the project instead of the edge?
