Hello and hope all is well.

I need some help in hooking up a laser to my Lead 1515 CNC with XPro V5 Controller.

I have the controller hooked up to a VFD using the RS485 A/B switch and this is fine.

With the above kit I added the offered laser module - some kind of Chinese 40W laser which has an on/off button on it and then 3 connection pins namely +12V, Ground and PWM.

I am not sure how the laser should be connected to the controller. I have the firmware for the RS485 switch but I am not sure if this firmware can be used for the laser also? I connected the laser as per the XPro documentation and assumed that the laser can not receive an "Enable" signal. I don't really know how to tell if it does and am assuming it does not given the connection pins mentioned. I may be wrong as this is new to me.

With the power on, I can hear the Xpro relay switching but it repeats like a car's indicator and that doesn't sound right to me...?

Any direction on this will help.

    Thanks

I can't help with all of your questions, but I can tell you that if using RS485 you need to move the internal relay jumper to mist - otherwise all communication via RS485 switches the relay.

Please contact the vendor you purchased your controller from for tech support.

We use the BlackBox: docs.openbuilds.com/blackbox :)

    Thanks for the reply.

    Will double check the jumper.
