Which one? The one I'm gathering parts for right now. Hoping to make a 4' wide by 8' high vertical machine because of limited floor space. Right now, electronics are being stockpiled so I can finish the hard part. A pair of 1600oz NEMA 34's motors will run the "Y", so a counterweight 'solution' shouldn't be needed...or so I'm guestimating. Soon as the doors can be propped open and the garage emptied into the driveway, we can start on the welding of the frame. So...the one I'm building right now is the one I'd use it on.

I'm getting ready to purchase a new Delta 3D printer Kit and the board that comes with it is a Proprietary Board. I would replace that board with this one as Deltas seem to work better with Smoothie Boards and it would let me customize my printer if I ever decide to upgrade the kit.

I would build an autonomous rover from an old electric scooter, and use it to spread salt on our road, as it is often very slippery in the winter.

I'd use the smoothie to run this now 1000x750mm X-Carve. Upgraded from 500x500. New belts, pulleys and what not.
My Openbuilds based Indie I2 3d printer has happily provided new belt clamps for the upgrade.

And yes, polish beer is real good! Keeps the mess bearable

Sadly, I lack a decent controller to replace the ****** gshield or whatever the thing Inventables supplied me with is called. ;)

Having finished the Ox build I am now wanting a 3D printer, the Smoothie board would help get that project underway.

C-Beam Machine XLarge Mechanical I would use it to build this. Its got ample room to cut about anything. Easy access to front loading and a strong robust build.

    Thanks

I'd use the smoothie board as the brains of a powerful control box that will have plug and play options to control:
    1) c-bot 3D printer I am designing built from c-beam and CNC parts [not many people have used a CNC to build a 3D printer...]
    2) k-40 laser engraver [in the future]
    3) c-beam CNC machine [future build]
    4) maybe some combination of a cnc and laser or printer and cnc... who knows!?!?

My first control box uses a TinyG to control a 1800x1000 X-Carve.

Making Awesome is the makerspace here and we are designing a 3d printer for use at and sale through our space. The Smoothieboard would be a fabulous base to add some of
the advanced features we want to incorporate into our design. And yes, we are going to be using Openbuilds extrusions for the framing.

Would have to go to my first CNC build. Originally using the C beam as a camera slider, I realised I have all the parts lying around to make a 1mx1m CNC router.

I would use it to make an sls 3D printer similar to the You-SLS project. I've already begun aquiring the materials and working on making some sligt modifications to the design. I'm really interested in sls and the smoothieboard would be an awesome addition.

A Smoothieboard would be right at home on a 300x300 D-bot printer im building. The addition of the Smoothieboard would add the features and power I need to make awesome things happen. I'm also hoping it can be used to help me fulfill my goal of having the machine self levatate and follow me around like a puppy.

I would love to use this smoothieboard in my current cartesian 3d printer, or use it as an upgrade to my CNC machine to add laser engraving capabilities to it.
