I found out that there is an upside-down 3D printer at (34) K R A L Y N 3D - YouTube By putting the motion system and extruder/hotend at the bottom of the printer and having the build platform move up, it's possible to get faster 3D prints. The one in the video was designed to be portable and fits in the boxes made for 3D filaments spools. It's possible to turn a regular 3D printer with box-like frame upside down but I'm not sure if this will work.
