Hi, I'm new to the community and to cnc. I have a knockoff lead cnc kit that I'm putting together and I'm trying to figure out my movement. Motion only works if I go very slow and the stepper makes noise without moving if I try a higher speed. Overall, everything sounds really rough.

    My steppers are 23HD86001Y-21B
    Drivers TB660-4.0
    Controller NVUM with Mach3.

Looks like my cabling is correct and the dip switches are set as recommended on the steppers.

I thought perhaps my eccentric nuts were too tight but I disconnected the motor from the lead screw and it's still not working smoothly.

I built a 3d printer before but I'm new to CNC routers. I'm not sure where to start to troubleshoot this.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I grounded the shielding from the cable and it works!
