Software Ideas

After a couple bumps in the road like a defective keyboard i believe i am heading in the right direction with my cnc router. I will mostly be making custom signs. I am familiar with Corel Draw and Flexi (that is a sign design program i use with my vinyl cutter). If i use these programs and export as some sort of vector file, then use a G-code converter of sorts will that work? If so what G-code converter would you recommend?
