    Good morning!

New to the openbuilds forum (First post) and I am having some trouble with the probing feature. I have set up the probe correctly I believe having followed the video. When I hit the probe option and move the bit over the hole and hit confirm position and then probe, nothing will happen, If I then abort that and try again the router will then move itself all the way diagnolly off the touch plate and move down into the workpiece. I tried to align the router bit at the very front corner of the touch plate near the hole and while this kept the router bit on the touch plate, when it touched the plate that was all it did. It got hung up and did nothing else. At no point has there been an error while using the touch plate. I have tried the magnet on the collet and the bit itself. I have tried automatic probing and I have tried the XYZ probing where the bit diamter is entered manually, can anyone help me sort out the problem?

your nice shiny new BlackBox X32 needs a software update.
    Open OpenBuildSCONTROL
select wizards and Tools in the menu bar
    select 'Firmware flashing tool'
    select the X32
    select the correct port
set the other things like this

    select 'flash'

when it is done, reset the Blackbox and test those probes again

Confirmed fixed as well, one problem though. I don’t know if it’s by design or not, but it does not work with surfacing bit that I bought from the store here. The shaft is 1/4”, but the actual bit diameter is 1”. It just knocks the probe off the work piece when it goes down. Because the bot does not clear the probe and the connector on the probe.

Yes for odd shaped tools you'll want to get a couple cheap 1/4" Dowel / Gauge pins in your tool drawer. Probe XY with the dowel pin, swop in the tool you want to use and Probe Z. Procedure applies to surfacing bits, V-bits, tapered bits, single straight O-flutes, etc
