I was originally thinking of using plastic rain guttering, blocked at each end, :duh: to anodise my rail.
Blue looks good. However, I realise one off pieces are easy, but you need to be really precise, with the timings and temperatures, to get to get all the pieces exactly the same colour.

Anyhow, I managed to get Black anodised track, so that idea will have to wait for the next build.

    Hi Robert,

Nice work! Can you post the price of the kit and a list of contents? ...or if you'd rather PM me, that would be fine too. Shipping would be to Atlanta.

    Thanks!

My regular job has me on nights so I can't mill anything, it's a pain but pays the bills and must come first.
I also had to build and setup my sons new room.
Gotta love ikea and hate it at the same time.

Also had to build the PC and install windows.

    Hi Frank
I have looked through your build and it looks great! Thanks for sharing. There are some files that I have a hard time finding both here and on the OX. Can you direct me to files for the upper and lower spindel plate, plastic spacers for Z and belt clips?

    Thanks, Martin
Currently running a Shapeoko w Kress spindel

Yes, exactly. The two plates that fixes the threaded rod and motor for the Z axis.

Haha no I wouldn't be alive if I did ;)
Mind you it would be a good way to get the landlord to replace this 1960 office carpet
That is my OX that's waiting for some over due work since all the electronics have now arrived
So much to do and such little time.

I have to mill a set of end plates that have my belt clip design since I have the original design plates on it now and I'm replacing all the wheels with the new heavy duty wheels just because I can while I'm still at this stage of the build.

    Hi Robert,

the finished kit looks really nice. Good work!
I was also working during the weekend at the new bedroom for my son. :) I now need a door plate and a CNC would come in handy.;)

If you have milled enough kits, it would be great if you could let me know the shipping costs to Germany and kit price and content. I PM you already my address.

    Thanks,
    Joe

Once the next two kits are done I will message you, it's just a matter of cleaning and packing.
I'm on nights right now so house is sleeping when I'm up and it's hard for me to get anything done.
Also need to pick up some M3 hardware today on my way in to work

    Thanks Robert for confirming! :)
Don't worry I'm not in a hurry, I just want to be sure I can get the kit from you, so that I can place the order for the other components.

    Kind Regards
    Joe

@Robert Hummel what about a sand/glass bead blaster? I am happy to buy a "raw" kit and test it out as we have a blaster at work.

Have you ever made an ox kit that can accept a 80x20 mm stick for the Z?

I have not tryed the 20x80 but that's easy as spacing the holes 10mm more each way ;)
I have a blasting gun and 50kg bag of beads and tried it with my 3 gallon compressor, the CFM is way to low but gave me a good idea of what the finish would be and I like it.
Just in order to do things right and SAFE I need a chamber and bigger compressor.
I'm told a 4-6 CFM @90psi is what I need min with a good water separator inline :)
