I have the original Z probe; the one with two wires (one white and one black). I have never used the product and have no documentation on how to connect it. Can someone provide documentation on how to connect and use this probe?

    Thanks for any help,

    Rod

What controller do you have? If it is the BlackBox, refer to the BlackBox documentation. If you are using another controller, refer to its documentation. The probe essentially is a switch that when closed sends a signal to the controller. I use an Arduino board as my controller. The probe is hooked to ground and to pin A5 as per the GRBL wiki. gnea/grbl

The alligator clip goes to the endmill. When the controller issues the probe command, the endmill moves down and when it touches the probe the circuit is closed signalling the controller to lift back up to a now known safe position.
