I have configured Fusion to have a work position at the top of my wasteboard with the paper trick to find my Z zero. I had to put a 1 in the WSC offset setting in Setup > Post Process > Machine WCS to stop the WCS error when I went to post. This may be my problem. The post professor generated the code I expected however when starting a job, it just moves straight up and hits the Z top limit switch and stops. Any help would be appreciated.
In the post options dialog you see entries for the 'end of job Z position' This is used for the start of the job as well so if you have home switches it needs to stay at the default of -10 (mm) You can make it -1 if that is enough to stay off the limit switch reliably, but 0 will always trip the limit. In that list of options the green lines are settings that are still at default and the blue lines are ones that have been changed (by you). If you hover the mouse over each line in turn there will be a popup block of help text, you will benefit from reading all of them (-: (note that the current post has slightly different layout of the options because it now includes laser options)
Weird, I don’t remember changing that but it worked. Is there an easy way to hide the laser options (or any option I don’t want someone else changing)?
no fusion does not provide a way to hide options. Why would someone change anything? Print some check sheets of what it is supposed to look like and tape to nearby wall (-: Then no-one can claim they didn't know it should not be changed. Also have a look at the 'nc program' feature in Fusion, I think that might store/restore the settings
What you said sounds very reasonable, the workshop owner (family member) doesn’t follow any instructions at all. I will just have to check every time that nothing has changed.
