pick something close then adjust your settings as needed. That's what I had to do. If you're currently running a grbl based machine, then use the same settings. The only thing you might have to do is make sure that $4=1.

None, or a similar one. Read the text at the relative steps. The profile just fills in values for you below, then scroll down and customise to your liking. See github.com/gnea/grbl/wiki to understand all the settings

Is there a way to revert to a prior release of the Openbuilds Control? I updated to v1.0.258, and now the software lags, won't run a job (I click on the Run Job button, and nothing happens), and I get a message in the Serial Console which reads "[ Websocket ] Disconnected. Openbuilds CONTROL probably quit or crashed" pretty frequently.

Nothing changed in v1.0.258 that could cause that, so I would recommend uninstall, cleanup, reinstall after a fresh reboot.
Check for things that can interfere with port 3000/3001, and update graphics card drivers.

Hi guys, forgive me if this has already been addressed and also if I’m posting in the wrong area. I’m a little new here and still learning how to navigate. So my windows XP computer that I was using to run my CNC router via a parallel port through Mach three took a dump on me. I have a windows 10 computer 64-bit system with a parallel port And Mach three is not happy. I’ve seen some options out there but I was wondering if the open builds control software can run on windows 10 64bit and still utilize my parallel port to communicate with my current machine and set up like Mach three used to. Thank you guys!

No. Control is grbl based. As in you need a controller running grbl.

    So I saw this thing
TourBox - The Ultimate Controller for Creators
and immediately wanted one for video editing but also wondered if it will work for CONTROL?

As far as I can tell it has interface software where you can link the buttons and knobs to keyboard shortcuts for any target app, so it should work so long as CONTROL has enough shortcuts mapped (the idea being to avoid the keyboard and mouse entirely so this device is an all in one hand control)

wot ya think @Peter Van Der Walt ?

I'm making my own using a teensy board. I used the contour shuttle xpress for awhile, but want more buttons and potentiometers. Peter just added kb shortcuts to control feed and tool override which I'll add to it soon.

Click the little Gears top right on the Macro Button to edit/delete it:

    Hi all,

What Gcode standard and/or dialect is used in OpenBuilds control software?

Where can I look for the list of G codes (such as G90 and G91 etc) and their format?

Thank you and thank you for the great software.

CONTROL just sends it along to Grbl

Hi all, I know that Raspberry pi isn't officially supported, but if anyone else out there is using this with the Blackbox controller, I have a couple of questions:
I'm using a Pi4 which seems to run the machine fine, BUT, it stopped after about 10-minutes of running. Could this be something to do with the screensaver on the Pi? I have found how to disable this, so am curious if anyone else has experienced this?

I am using the standard 7" Pi screen but have found that the OpenBuilds CONTROL software doesn't fit this screen.......I cannot access the g-code editor or simulation etc. Are there any workarounds for this? If not I'll have to use a standard monitor..........

    Thanks for any assistance :)

7" is just too small :) - but ultimately its not the inches, its the pixels resolution. CONTROL will fit on any screen if it can provide 1280 × 960 or higher

Check the power supply you are using for the Pi?

It's not a biggy (pun intended) but it makes for a nice compact setup next to the machine, but i do like to see the simulation before running just to confirm it's the correct program!
I know the power supply is important, but I found that my wife's Kindle supply runs it fine........hope she doesn't need it any time soon :). I'm going to try it again tomorrow with the screensaver disabled and will try another power supply if the problem remains.

    Thanks for your advice.

As far as screen size goes, I started off with a 7" screen and switched to a 12" touchscreen in portrait mode. I love it.
