Hi there I have a home diy plasma cnc and I’ve noticed that my circles have started to not be totally round, is this down to the gantry’s not being square?
Using gears and timing belts, hypertherm 45xp and commandcnc

I would start by checking the grubscrews on the pulleys - they tend to rattle loose over time, causing pulleys to slip on motor shafts. If its been in use for a while, a thorough inspection of the timing belts is a good second guess. The reinforcing fibers can break over time causing the belt to become more stretchy and then its time for replacements. Next, check calibration (command an axis to move say 200mm, measure whether it really moved 200mm, repeat for all axes).
If you believe the gantry to be not square, fixing that would also just help make it better.

I’ll check those in the morning, I may upgrade to rack and pinion in the new year.
